IT Governance
Our IT Governance service is based on COBIT® (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology); a globally recognised framework created by ISACA for information technology management and IT governance. It is a supporting toolset that allows managers to bridge the gap between control requirements, technical issues and business risks. Organisation audit frameworks vary depending on the purpose of the audit however COBIT® is an internationally recognised IT governance framework which covers the core IT elements of most audit frameworks. In the scoping phase of our service, we cross check the scope of the COBIT® framework with organisation specific requirements, adapting the scope of the assessment to meet targeted objectives. Part of the output from the assessment is an explanation of the cross referencing between external governance requirements and the COBIT® based report.

Credit Union Services
Since inception, we have established ourselves as a source of key services to several credit unions in Ireland. These services include IT strategy generation, IT steering and management, establishment of IT governance and management frameworks aligned to RCU and Central Bank requirements. In the context of mergers or Transfer of Engagements; we also offer support through conducting IT due diligence, project management, and post-integration support.
Based on our knowledge of the Credit Union sector, we have created a number of varying models for engagement of our services; tailored to each Credit Unions individual requirements in a cost-effective manner.
If your Credit Union is considering a Transfer of Engagements or merger initiative; or you need post integration support and advice, please contact us at info@sp3services.com for a confidential discussion about how we can support your individual needs.

Resource Placement
We offer professional resource placement on a short-term, long-term, temporary or permanent basis in all areas of IT Services and Project and Program Management. We provide fully qualified professional resources who adhere to SP3 Services’ core principles.  This creates a genuine commitment to not only the task or process at hand, but also how that work may effect the wider organisation.  While we espouse Agile and Lean adaptations of traditional methods, such as ITIL®. MSP® and PRINCE2®, we understand that the key is knowing what we are trying to achieve and determining how our method helps us attain these outcomes. Our resources are equipped with the requisite experience, business savvy and the necessary training and accreditation.

Project and Program Management
When establishing a project management practice, it is critical that we recognise the requirement to adopt and adapt best practice frameworks. One size does not fit all and there is no rule that says we must utilise all of the frameworks or only one. The most effective project management practices leverage guidance from multiple frameworks. The key is knowing what we are trying to achieve and understanding how our method helps us achieve these outcomes. This approach keeps our method light and improves buy-in from stakeholders. All of our senior consultants are trained and certified at the practitioner level and have diverse industry experience. The combination allows for a thorough and comprehensive approach to project and program management.

IT Steering
IT Steering is an external advisory service for business managers who are seeking assurance regarding IT strategies or planned investments. While applicable to companies of all sizes, this service is most popular with small to medium organisations with a relatively large scale investment or that are seeking specialist advice and skills that may not be present in their current IT department. These engagements can take the form of a retained role which includes active participation in tactical and strategic management, ad hoc assessment of significant IT changes, or briefings on the relevance of evolving technologies and methods.

Process Design and Optimisation
Our team has extensive experience supporting diverse organisations in the selection and adoption of optimised processes. Establishing new processes can be challenging for organisations that have no prior experience or are resource constrained. We will work with your organisation to define and establish initial processes, including providing interim process managers until in-house resources are able to operate autonomously. In some cases, we perform reviews to identify and then implement improvements in existing processes. SP3 Services will ensure the method is effectively adapted to suit the environment.

Review and Recommend
The Review and Recommend engagements are similar to the Gap Analysis in that they assess the current environment and recommend improvement opportunities. However these engagements differ in that the assessment is in the context of specific organisational objectives and may encompass multiple disciplines such as Service Management, Program and Project Management. Review and Recommend engagements are typically targeted at specific issues or challenges however they can also be applied to assess progress against the IT strategy or to recommend an approach for significant organisational changes – outsourcing, merging IT functions, geographic growth, etc.

Gap Analysis and Benchmarking
Gap Analysis and Benchmarking begins with an assessment of the company’s current practice against a recognised framework such as ITIL®, PRINCE2®, COBIT®, ISO20000, etc. and compares it to industry norms. The output from these engagements is a report and presentation to key stakeholders on identified gaps with associated recommendations for remediation, including a prioritised roadmap for implementation. Gap Analysis is often used to assess the effort to adopt a given framework / standard and to assess progress since the last review and identify further areas for improvement.
